The PIDB held a virtual executive session on October 16, 2024. The session featured a presentation on the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency’s project to consolidate security classification guides. The project, known as CoNGA, consolidated 65 individual guides into one guide that staff can access online and is searchable. This modernization project eliminated redundancies and resolved conflicting guidance. CoNGA enables timely updates to the guide and more accurate classification determinations. Consolidating guides into a machine readable format will set the stage for future work with implementing automation for classification and declassification functions.
PIDB Chair Mary DeRosa led the meeting which was attended by PIDB members Carter Burwell, Andrew Byrnes, Ezra Cohen, David Hickton, Carmen Medina, and Alissa Starzak.
The agenda for the meeting is available on the PIDB’s webpage.
