It is not too late for you to register to attend the Public Interest Declassification Board (PDIB)’s first public meeting of the year, which convenes virtually tomorrow, Tuesday, May 18, from 1:00-2:30 p.m. Please register by clicking here before registration closes at Midnight tonight (May 17) After registering you will receive an email containing a personalized link for access to the audio and video WebEx connections. The event will also be streamed live on NARA’s YouTube Channel. The PIDB encourages you to submit questions and comments for the PIDB members in advance to the PIDB email address: PIDB@nara.gov. All questions received by email will be answered either live during the event or afterwards on the PIDB blog, Transforming Classification.
David Ferriero, the Archivist of the United States, will provide opening remarks. Afterwards, the meeting will highlight records relating to the September 11, 2001 (9/11) terrorist attacks on the United States, in a discussion with former 9/11 Commission member Jamie Gorelick and 9/11 Commission Executive Director Philip Zelikow. PIDB members will also discuss their current activities.
