The PIDB held a virtual executive session on July 17, 2024. The session featured a presentation on the Air Force’s automation project, Battering Ram. The project is converting security classification guides and policy into a machine readable format. Battering Ram can automatically detect inconsistencies between the guides and policy, generate rulesets, and evidence for decisions. Battering Ram will allow for data sharing among the Department of Defense branches and with foreign allies.
PIDB Chair Mary DeRosa led the meeting which was attended by PIDB members Carter Burwell, Andrew Byrnes, Ezra Cohen, Laura DeBonis, David Hickton, Carmen Medina, and Alissa Starzak.
