On January 13, 2025, President Biden designated Mark Angelson as Chair and appointed him as member for the remainder of Mary DeRosa’s term. John W. McCarthy and Ryan Montoya were appointed as members for the remainder of David Hickton’s and Andrew Byrnes’s terms respectively. Mark Angelson most recently served as a member of the President’s Intelligence Advisory Board.
The PIDB held a virtual executive session on January 15, 2025. Acting Chair Alissa Starzak led the meeting which was attended by PIDB members Carter Burwell, Ezra Cohen, Laura DeBonis, and Carmen Medina. The newly appointed members Mark Angelson and John W. McCarthy also attended and took the oath of office.The PIDB members and staff look forward to working with the new members on classification and declassification matters.
