The Public Interest Declassification Board met on July 16, 2025, at CIA headquarters in Langley, Virginia. Members received a classified briefing on several CIA tools focused on automating aspects of the agency’s declassification and public release workflow—capabilities that align with the Board’s mission to improve the efficiency, transparency, and timeliness of access to historically valuable government records. The meeting also included an executive session during which the Board discussed plans for a public event to be held on Capitol Hill in October.
The meeting was attended by PIDB members Mark Angelson, Carter Burwell, Ezra Cohen, Val Demings, Carmen Medina, and Alissa Starzak.
