The statutorily bipartisan Public Interest Declassification Board is pleased to announce a meeting open to the public on July 15, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The meeting will be held on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. Registration for in-person and virtual attendance will begin next week.
This meeting will focus on how the Board serves Congress as a productive partner on classification and declassification issues. The Board will also detail what it sees as the critical components for legislation prompting the successful declassification and public release of records.
About the Public Interest Declassification Board
The Board advises the President and other Executive Branch officials on issues related to classification and declassification, pursuing public access to national security information of significant historic value while ensuring the protection of sensitive information.
Via its public meetings, the Board seeks to foster conversations and promote collaboration in its pursuit of greater access to information for the American people.
